DoorDash App Keeps Crashing: How to Fix It

The DoorDash app closes on its own — often on the map screen — freezes, or won't stay open long enough to place an order.

Try these in order

  1. Check your internet connection Turn Wi-Fi off and back on, make sure airplane mode is off, and try switching to cellular data — a strong phone signal often improves the app's connectivity (DoorDash).
  2. Restart your phone A simple restart clears the temporary glitches behind many DoorDash crashes (DoorDash).
  3. Force close and relaunch the app Swipe through your recent apps, swipe DoorDash away, then reopen it from your home screen (DoorDash).
  4. Update to the latest version Go to the App Store or Play Store, search for DoorDash and install any pending update, which includes the latest bug fixes (DoorDash).
  5. Clear the app's data (Android) Go to Settings > Apps > DoorDash > Storage > Clear Data, then reinstall DoorDash — DoorDash recommends this for crashes caused by a third-party glitch (DoorDash).
  6. Uninstall and reinstall (iPhone) Delete the app, turn your phone off for 3–5 seconds, then reinstall. You'll be logged out, so have your username and password ready (DoorDash).
  7. Turn off VPNs DoorDash advises not using a VPN service while troubleshooting connection-related app problems (DoorDash).
Still stuck? Some crashes come from a known third-party glitch that DoorDash is fixing on their end, so try again a little later, and contact DoorDash support if the app is still unusable (DoorDash).
