Spotify Lyrics Not Showing: How to Fix It
Lyrics aren't showing for a song on Spotify, or the lyrics option is missing.
What exactly is happening?
Try these in order
- Know where to look. On a phone, tap the Now playing bar, then scroll down to Lyrics. On a tablet, tap the album artwork in the side menu (Spotify Support).
- Check lyrics preview. Lyrics preview is on by default — make sure you haven't switched it off in the Now Playing view (Spotify Support).
- Not every song has lyrics. Availability depends on agreements with rights holders and changes by country and device. New lyrics are added every day (Spotify Support).
- Switch off music videos. Lyrics preview isn't available on music videos (Spotify Support).
- Update the app and restart it if lyrics are missing on songs that used to have them.
Still stuck? Lyrics are available on both Free and Premium plans, so upgrading won't add lyrics that aren't licensed (Spotify Support).
