WhatsApp Last Seen Not Showing: How to Fix It
You can't see when a contact was last online, or your own 'last seen' isn't showing to others.
What exactly is happening?
Try these in order
- Check your own setting first. If you hide your last seen, you can't see other people's either. Go to Settings → Privacy → Last seen and online (WhatsApp Help).
- Pick who can see it. Choose Everyone, My contacts, My contacts except…, or Nobody (WhatsApp Help).
- Chat or save them as a contact. Some people only share last seen with contacts or people they've messaged (WhatsApp Help).
- Consider their privacy settings. The other person may have hidden their last seen, or may have blocked you (WhatsApp Help).
- Close and reopen WhatsApp in case it's a temporary connection issue (WhatsApp Help).
Still stuck? Remember 'online' only means WhatsApp is open and connected on their phone — it doesn't mean they've read your message (WhatsApp Help).
