Uber Driver or Ride Not Showing Up: How to Fix It
You booked a ride but no driver appears, the car isn't moving on the map, or the app won't match you with anyone at all.
Try these in order
- Give the map a moment and check your signal A weak mobile data connection is a common reason the map and driver location fail to load properly, so move somewhere with better coverage (Uber Help).
- Make sure location services are on Check your phone settings and confirm the Uber app is allowed to use your location, otherwise the map can't place you or your driver (Uber Help).
- Cancel and rebook if the driver isn't coming If your driver isn't moving toward you or asks you to cancel, Uber says you can cancel and book another ride, with no cancellation fee within 5 minutes of the driver accepting (Uber Help).
- Try a different ride type If no drivers are available, switch between options like UberX, UberXL or Uber Comfort, or ask the app to notify you when a driver becomes available (Uber Help).
- Update the app and restart it Uber may block ride requests on outdated versions, so install any update, then restart the app (Uber Help).
- Check that Uber operates where you are After entering pickup and dropoff, the app tells you if Uber isn't available in your area; you can also check the Uber Cities page (Uber Help).
Still stuck? If you keep getting matched with drivers who don't arrive, report it through the app's help section — Uber says it monitors this behaviour and acts under its Community Guidelines (Uber Help).
