YouTube Video Stuck Processing: How to Fix It
Your YouTube upload is stuck at processing or uploading and won't finish.
What exactly is happening?
Try these in order
- Give it time. Uploads can take a few minutes to several hours, depending on file size, quality, and your internet speed. 4K takes much longer than 1080p (YouTube Help).
- Check your internet speed. Search Google for 'internet speed test'. Slow or unstable internet is a main cause of stuck uploads (YouTube Help).
- Leave the upload page open. Closing the tab or app can interrupt the upload.
- Resume an interrupted upload. Go to youtube.com/upload and pick the same file — you have 24 hours to continue where you left off (YouTube Help).
- Use a recommended format. Encoding your video in one of YouTube's recommended formats makes uploads faster (YouTube Help).
- Upload at a quieter time. Busy evenings at your internet provider can slow uploads (YouTube Help).
Still stuck? If it's still stuck after a full day, delete the draft and re-upload. You can also post in the YouTube Help Community (YouTube Help).
