Netflix Downloads Not Working: How to Fix It

The download arrow is missing on titles you want to save, downloads fail partway through, or shows you already downloaded have vanished from the app.

Try these in order

  1. Check your device supports downloads Downloads work on Android phones and tablets, iPhones and iPads, Amazon Fire tablets, and Chromebooks with the Play Store. Some older operating system versions don't support them at all.
  2. Update the Netflix app and your device Make sure you have the latest version of the Netflix app and the latest operating system updates installed.
  3. Check the title is actually downloadable Not everything on Netflix can be downloaded. Go to Downloads and tap "See What You Can Download" to browse only titles that are available.
  4. Check your download limits Ad-free plans allow up to 100 active downloads per device, while ad-supported plans are limited to 15 downloads per device per calendar month.
  5. Free up storage and connect to Wi-Fi Downloads need space on your device, and using Wi-Fi avoids data problems and saves your allowance.
  6. Stay signed in You must remain signed in to your Netflix account to see and play your downloads offline. Cancelling your membership deletes them.
Still stuck? Try downloading on a different supported device — some Android devices simply aren't compatible with the download feature. Downloads also expire after a while and some have a yearly re-download limit.
