Netflix Error Codes: How to Fix Them: How to Fix It

Instead of your show, Netflix shows a code like NW-2-5, ui-800-3, or ui-113, sometimes with a message about encountering an error and retrying.

Try these in order

  1. Restart your device Turn it off completely (unplug it if you're unsure), leave it off for at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on and try Netflix again. This clears refreshed-data errors like ui-800-3.
  2. Restart your home network Unplug the modem and router, wait 30 seconds, plug them back in, wait a minute, then power your device on.
  3. Sign out and back in From the Netflix home screen, press back to open the menu, choose Get Help, then Sign out, then sign in again. On an error screen, choose More Details, then Sign out or Reset.
  4. Reset any custom network settings Turn off VPNs, proxies, and custom DNS settings and put your modem settings back to default, then try again.
  5. Set DNS back to automatic on a game console For NW-2-5 on PlayStation or Xbox, go into network settings and set DNS Settings to Automatic, then retest the connection.
  6. Reinstall the Netflix app Delete the app from your device and download it again from its app store, then sign back in.
Still stuck? If your error code has extra numbers in parentheses, search that exact code in the Netflix Help Center for specific steps. If nothing matches, contact your internet provider or Netflix customer service.
