Netflix Won't Let You Sign In: How to Fix It
Netflix rejects your email and password, says it can't find an account with your email address, or shows "There was a problem signing in."
Try these in order
- Check the email address you're using Netflix will say it can't find an account if you're using a different address than the one you signed up with — try any other addresses you own.
- Reset your password Ask for a reset link by email, or by text if you've added a mobile number to your account. If you can't use either, you may be able to verify with your credit card details.
- Choose a valid new password It needs to be at least 8 characters with a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, and different from passwords you use elsewhere.
- Try a different device If you can sign in on your phone but not your TV, the problem is with that device or your home network rather than your account.
- Restart the device you're stuck on Power it completely off for 10 to 15 seconds, turn it back on, and try signing in again to refresh stored data.
- Sign out on the device and back in On a TV, open the menu, choose Get Help, then Sign out, then sign back in with your details.
Still stuck? If you sign in with a profile email rather than the account owner's, you may not have a password at all — ask the account owner for help. Otherwise contact Netflix customer service.
