TikTok Livestream Problems: How to Fix It
You can't start a LIVE, your stream lags or drops frames, or comments aren't appearing during the broadcast.
Try these in order
- Check you're eligible to go LIVE TikTok only allows LIVE for accounts that meet its eligibility requirements (TikTok Support).
- Check Restricted Mode Restricted Mode removes access to LIVE and LIVE gifting; find it under Settings and privacy > Content preferences (iTechGuides).
- Update the app and restart your device Old versions and stale sessions cause most streaming failures (TikTok Support).
- Restart your router and test your network Refresh your modem and router, and try another connection if the stream keeps dropping frames (TikTok).
- Stop anything hogging bandwidth or power Pause downloads and updates, and close video conferencing or recording software while you stream (TikTok).
- Lower your stream quality Drop from 1080p to 720p, reduce your frame rate, or use LIVE Studio's built-in speed test to pick the right resolution (TikTok).
- Check your comment settings If comments are missing, see whether they've been turned off, filtered, or have blocked keywords, and whether a viewer has been muted (TikTok Support).
Still stuck? If you meet the requirements and still can't go LIVE, report the issue to TikTok (TikTok Support). If your commenting was suspended for a guidelines breach, that typically lasts 24 to 48 hours (TikTok Support).
