TikTok Video Won't Upload: How to Fix It
You hit post and TikTok gets stuck at a percentage or shows "Couldn't upload video. Try again later."
Try these in order
- Test your connection Open another app or website. If nothing loads, your internet is the problem; if everything else works, it's TikTok (wikiHow).
- Switch networks Move between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or restart your router, then try posting again (iTechGuides).
- Turn off your VPN A VPN with lag makes TikTok read your connection as unstable and fail the upload (wikiHow).
- Force close TikTok and restart your phone Swipe the app away, reopen it, and if that fails restart the handset (wikiHow).
- Check storage and permissions Make sure you have free space and that TikTok has Photos, Camera and Microphone access in your phone's privacy settings (iTechGuides).
- Try a shorter or smaller test clip If a small video posts fine, the original file is the issue (iTechGuides).
- Update TikTok, then clear the cache Update from your app store, then use Profile > Menu > Settings and privacy > Free up space > Clear cache (wikiHow).
Still stuck? Open Account Check (Profile > Menu > TikTok Studio > Account check) to see whether posting is restricted, and check Downdetector for an outage before repeatedly reposting (iTechGuides).
