Uber : How to Fix It
The Uber app won't let you sign in — it rejects your details, throws an error, or gets stuck on the verification code screen.
Try these in order
- Wait a few minutes and try again Uber says login can fail during temporary instability or outages, so give it a little time before troubleshooting further (Uber Help).
- Reset your password Request a password reset email and use the link quickly — Uber's reset links expire after a few minutes and you'll need to request a new one if you wait (Uber Help).
- Update the app and restart your phone Install the latest Uber version, then restart the phone to clear device, system or connection glitches (Uber Help).
- Try signing in somewhere else Log in through Uber's website or on another device to work out whether the problem is with your phone or your account (Uber Help).
- Check your connection and permissions Make sure you're on stable Wi-Fi or a good mobile signal, and that Uber's app permissions are allowed in your phone settings (Uber Help).
- Install pending phone updates Uber suggests checking for outstanding iOS or Android system updates, which can affect sign-in (Uber Help).
Still stuck? Fill out the form on Uber's sign-in help page. You'll get an automated email — open it and choose "Confirm email address" to be connected with a member of the Uber team (Uber Help).
